The cleanser is the first step in the scalp cleaning process. In order for nutrients to help create a healthier scalp, the scalp must first be cleaned of oils, toxins, dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and other contaminants that rob the follicles of their ability to grow healthy, strong hair. Dihydrotestosterone, by the way, is one of the leading causes of hair loss. The cleanser should be applied, rubbed in gently and then rinsed out.
Scalp Therapy 2
Nioxin Scalp Therapy is used to moisten the scalp and provide nutrient proteins and lipids to the follicles for a healthier scalp and head of hair. Because the goal of Nioxin is to create an environment where hair can grow and grow stronger, vitamins, moisture and protein nutrients are vital to the process.
Directions:
Scalp Therapy needs to be rubbed in to the scalp after cleansing and leaving the hair wet.
Leave on for 1-3 minutes.

One note of caution when applying the Nioxin Scalp Treatment; it can turn your scalp red for 10 to 20 minutes.
